Excited about Cloth

January 25th, 2010 by Neptunebaby

I am scheduled to get my tax return back next Friday. Although some of it will be going to pay bills and such, I plan to spend quite a bit on new Bagshot Row Bamboo Ultimate Fit cloth diapers. I do love my Bum Genius 3.0 Deluxe – which is what half of my diaper stash consists of right now, but I’ve also learned that the microfiber insert that is sewn in starts to stink after a few months. Here’s the thing – they don’t smell bad AT ALL out of the dryer, but as soon as my daughter urinates, it is the most horrid smell! My BSRB’s, on the other hand, do not have that problem. So, even though they are more expensive, they are well worth the cost. You get what you pay for, right? Not only are BSRB’s the CUTEST diaper out there and the most absorbent fitted I’ve used, but they don’t get the microfiber stink that some other diapers get. I can’t wait to start shopping! I’m even more excited about getting fluffy mail again. It’s been too long.

Favorite Cloth Diapers?

January 14th, 2010 by Neptunebaby

My absolute favorite cloth diaper is Bagshot Row Bamboo – especially now that it’s so easy to get snaps put on them. I’m not a big fan of snappi’s. I use them for the BSRB’s that I purchased prior to adding snaps, but I think it takes away from the attractiveness of the diaper – and that is one reason to buy BSRB’s! Besides making your child’s bum the most stylish on the block, BSRB’s are the most absorbent cloth diaper I have ever used. A friend once said, “BSRB is the Bentley of cloth diapers” and I have been a big fan ever since.

My second favorite in the fitted category are Thirsties. They are cute, soft, and very absorbent. I love the matching covers!

My final favorite is an AIO (all in one). I know a lot of mom’s don’t like AIO’s because they take much longer to dry, but I don’t mind at all. BumGenius 3.0 Deluxe are the most fabulous AIO I’ve tried. I don’t like pocket diapers because I would rather not deal with stuffing them and that is why I love the Deluxe version of this AIO – the insert is sewn right in! I love, love, love these diapers! The simplest cloth diaper in the world to use in my opinion.

So… what are your favorite cloth diapers? If I were to host a giveaway.. what would love to see up for grabs? Let me know!

Fluffy Mail

December 2nd, 2009 by Neptunebaby

I got fluffy mail today! Well, not all of it was actually fluffy, but it all has to do with the fluff.

First up – Two more pairs of custom Longies from my favorite Etsy Mama!

9months-2

9months-4

9months-6

winkydinks

Aren’t they the cutest Longies? For those of you that might not know what Longies are – they are the fleece pants she is wearing. To my surprise, Jen at Winkydinks also sent me a sample of Booty Cubes! I’ve already dissolved them in water to make my all natural baby powder scented cloth wipes solution. Thank you so much, Jen, for introducing me to such a wonderful product!

I also got my double order of Rockin’ Green Soap in the mail today! I have been dying to get this order because I ordered the scent “monkey snacks” and couldn’t wait to find out what monkey snacks smell like. Let me tell you.. they smell SO GOOD! Kind of a fruity smell. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s like smelling a very mellow lemon drop. I also ordered the wooden spoon this time and so happy I did. It’s so cute! and will keep me from using my tablespoons to measure my monkey snack smelling laundry detergent from now on.

All in all, it was a good fluffy mail day. Fluffy mail days are my favorite days!

GCDH update

November 21st, 2009 by Neptunebaby

I haven’t done so well on the Great Cloth Diaper Hunt this time. I haven’t really had much time to hunt. The point of the GCDH is to meet and get familiar with WAHM shoppes though and that I have done. I have found so many lovely sites that I will be ordering from.

I just got done browsing 90210 Organics and I am in love with the products they offer! Everything organic that you can imagine!

I also like Bullfrogs and Butterflies Boutique for all things personalized. I might have to get my girls some personalized books. I remember how great the feeling was when I had books with my name in them as a child.

Celtic Cloths is another great shop. You can find patterns for different things to sew (wetbags, slings, etc) and great tips on how to Care for your cloth diapers too. Look at the beautiful fabrics!

Fishnoodles has a great stock of diapers and covers too. And I just found another GCDH icon there! Thanks, Fishnoodles. That was fun :-)

Ooh, and another icon found at Green Sprout Baby! They have the cutest prints available!!

Ok, well.. I guess I should get back to the hunt. Perhaps I will find more icons :-)

Fab Fitted

November 21st, 2009 by Neptunebaby

My favorite cloth diapers are Thirsties Fab Fitted. I have been so happy cloth diapering! The diapers are cute and absorbent, I don’t have to worry about constantly buying packages of diapers, and I am doing something to save the planet. I used to think that cloth diapering was something I could never get into, but now I can’t believe I didn’t start sooner with my older children!

Look at how cute these diapers are!

fabfittedraspberrysm

They are so soft and fuzzy. I can’t imagine using a disposable diaper again!

fab_fitted_detail

I don’t buy disposable baby wipes any longer either. I use washable, organic cloths to clean my baby’s bottom. Kissaluvs Organic Wipes are soft, absorbent and hand sewn of a dye free mix of Certfied Organic Cotton and natural Hemp material.

Cloth Diapering Addict

November 11th, 2009 by Neptunebaby

I thought I was addicted to babywearing, but my addiction to cloth diapering is even greater. I am constantly looking for good deals on diapers and covers and longies and soakers. I’ve managed to clock about 2 hours surfing Etsy today (while supposed to be working) looking at different styles of longies – fleece pants that are warm for baby and also repel diaper leaks. Are these not the cutest pair of longies you’ve ever seen? And look at this fleece diaper cover! and this one too! I am smitten.
