Being a breastfeeding mom I have read all about different supplements to increase milk supply – from Fenugreek alone to a mixture of different herbs served in liquid or pill form, such as More Milk Plus. I was looking around to see what the prices are on things like this because my cycle returned earlier this month and I’ve heard that milk supply can take a dip during that time of the month. I first looked at Motherlove.com because that is the brand name of the MMP drops. Well, let me tell you it was expensive just for the 2 ounce bottle! So I proceeded to look around and came across Lucky Vitamin. I was happy to see that their prices are a great deal more competitive. I ordered a 2 ounce bottle of More Milk Special Plus to try out. I’ll post a review of how well it works after I’ve tried it. =) If you’re looking for supplements for an increase in milk supply or simply for vitamins, Lucky is the way to go.

Did you know that, not only does breast milk feed your baby the most nutritious and perfect food, but it’s also healing?
Instead of spending $5.00 on Little Noses Saline spray, use breast milk to clear out your baby’s stuffy nose. It works great and it’s free!
It also aids the healing process of Conjuctivitis or “pink eye,” ear infections, scrapes, cuts and even sore nipples. We all know that your nipples go through hell when start breastfeeding. Instead of spending money on lanolin ointment, try using your own breast milk to heal your cracked/sore nipples. Now I’m not saying that if your child has an ear infection or “pink eye” that you shouldn’t go to the doctor, but breast milk will speed up the healing process and it’s something you can start to use before you make it to the doctor.
Does Breast Milk Really Heal?
Many doctors, researchers, and scientist agree that breast milk does appear to have healing properties that can prove beneficial when it comes to treating minor illnesses and injuries. This is because of the antibodies that breast milk contains. Just as breast milk provides your baby with necessary antibodies to fight off infection, it can also work to kill off bacteria and viruses when applied topically to problem areas.
Is Breast Milk Safe To Use?
You may be a little put off about using your breast milk to help cure your or your children’s illnesses. Rest assured however, breast milk is extremely clean and sterile for use. Just make sure that you store your breast milk correctly, as you would for feedings.
It is important to keep in mind that breast milk may not be 100% effective in ending infections or illnesses. For this reason, keep a close watch on infections and be sure to seek appropriate medical treatment if the infection does not resolve itself promptly. Never rely on breast milk as a cure for serious illness or disease.
