Gabrielle is going to start Preschool this year. Wow. It seems like we were just taking her binky away from her not long ago and now she is a big girl. She’s very excited about starting school this year. All last year she talked about how she wanted to ride the bus with her brother to go to school. Obviously she won’t be because they aren’t going to the same school, but she is thrilled nonetheless. I think it’s going to be a great experience for her.
Elizabeth is 17 months old now! We just got her a princess potty yesterday because she has been telling us when she pees in her diaper. I thought that was an excellent sign that she knows what’s going on. It’s never too early to get your child used to understanding the potty and what it is used for. She hasn’t gone on the potty yet, but I didn’t expect her to (although I secretly hoped that she would be a potty genius and surprise us). She does like to sit on the potty and say, “pee” though so she has the basics down. I couldn’t ask for anything more than that!
Her vocabulary is pretty good for her age as well. She can say the following: mama, dada, dog, woof, snake, shoe, kitty, duck, quack, flower, bye, dance, bath, Evan, teeth, milk, eat, night night, and obviously.. pee. Oh, and I almost forgot.. her new favorite word is “no.” She can also sign the following: flower, eat, and more. We didn’t work with her on signing as much as we did with Gabby, but she is still picking it up.

I am happy to announce that I am hosting a giveaway sponsored by Dakota’s Personalized Gifts. The winner will receive a $50.00 gift certificate for anything in the store. I have had the pleasure to review one of the products myself. I chose to review the personalized coffee mug because it’s something I use on a daily basis. I love coffee and the cup is as cute as can be:

Dakota’s Personalized Gifts started in a spare bedroom about 5 years ago more as a part time hobby than a business with The Anniversary Rose making roses for the traditional anniversary gifts (i.e. 1st year paper, 2nd year cotton, 5th year wood etc) cutting rose petals by hand with scissors. It quickly grew from a part time hobby to a full time business, adding help and equipment to keep up. Then, we started expanding into personalized anniversary gifts. We started getting many requests from our customers for personalized wedding, Mother’s & Father’s Day and Christmas gifts etc. That’s when we started Dakota’s Personalized Gifts. Soon the business took over a second bedroom and the garage, the following year it occupying two bedrooms, the garage & a full basement. With no room left to expand we were forced to move into a commercial location in 2009. We continue to expand with new products and updated equipment all the time which allows us to produce most of the personalized items in house.
There are so many fabulous personalized products offered by Dakota’s Personalized Gifts. Get something for a wedding or birthday present, or even an early Christmas present that you can put away (Christmas will be here before we know it).
