one year anniversary
This day last year I started working for the company that I presently work for. I had taken 6 months off after the birth of my daughter and decided that I didn't want to travel as far as I had been for the 4 years before that. I found a large, reputable company with great pay and benefits only five miles from home and today I am celebrating one year with the company. Time sure does fly. It's a good thing that it's only five miles from home too with the way gas prices are. I wouldn't have been able to afford the seventy mile round trip I was making with the previous company.
This post also reminds me that my daughter just turned 18 months old this past Monday. Wow, can you believe it? A year and a half already. I can't believe how fast they grow up!

lost it
OK, a few minutes ago something crossed my mind that I wanted to write here, but by the time I got off the phone with my customer and opened MT to start writing, I lost what I wanted to say. I have absolutely no stinking idea what it was about. I think it was something good too because I feel really disappointed that I can't remember. Is that crazy or what? Apparently I've taken too many drugs for this viral infection because I have completely lost my mind.
On a brighter note... an email just went out a few minutes ago saying that there are several Chicken Ceasar wraps from our cafeteria -which are the best things in the world- left over from a recent meeting. Yum. I was on the phone, but had one of my favorite co-workers grab one for me!

computer gaming obsession
We are pretty dead at work today - which I am totally fine with. I don't mind only taking one or two calls an hour. It's much better than being swamped and feeling overwhelmed. Anyway, my point is that I have been surfing the internet for random information on a variety of things. My husband has been obsessed with computers lately. He's a serious video game freak and always has been, but now he is determined to start playing computer games. He's been thinking about building a computer for himself for just this purpose. So, in my "travels" online I came across the perfect site for him: How to Build a Computer. It seems simple enough to me. The kit includes everything a person would need to build a computer. He can also get upgrade kits to increase the ram or replace the CPU. I know I will end up regretting telling him about it, as I will probably never see him again because he'll be locked in a room with this project, but I know he will appreciate the information!

on the mend
Thank you all for your well wishes. I am feeling better today. Still hacking my lungs up, but at least I feel better. I got a good amount of sleep last night and woke up feeling like a different person. I am definitely not back to one hundred percent, but I feel like my body is trying to reach for it. Good stuff.
Also... happy Friday!

the plague
Yes, I have it. I have a viral infection that is wreaking havoc on me. I'm taking Musinex (over the counter) and a cough syrup with Codeine in it and 800 mg Motrin for all the aches and pains. I feel like I could pass out at my desk any minute. I took yesterday off because I could barely speak and was running a fever, but came into work today. Only an hour and a half left and I can go home and get some rest. I hope this is gone soon. I despise being sick. Well, I'm sure most people do. I don't know anyone who enjoys being ill, but I just thought I would throw that out there anyway.

lupus awareness month
Did you know that May is Lupus Awareness Month? I didn't know until about five minutes ago. Now I'm really hoping that we get that Stimulus money deposited very soon because I would like to donate some money to help raise money online for lupus. I know we don't all have loads of money to throw around, but every little bit that you can part with helps. If just the small amount of readers I have here donated a little bit of money, we could help someone reach their goal. What do you say? Are you ready to give a little bit in order to help a lot? I am headed over there now to see how I can help.

stimulus rebate check
I am really looking forward to getting our Stimulus rebate check. I would have already gotten it, but we didn't file our taxes until around April 10th so we didn't fall into the schedule of when they were being deposited. The tax return has to be processed by April 15th, not just filed. I hope we won't have to wait too much longer. We could really use that extra money about now.

tables turned
Well, my daughter is doing much better today - no fever, her nose is all dried up so she is rarely sneezing, and she's in a much better mood. I, on the other hand, woke up this morning with a sore throat and a persistent cough. It's going to drive me crazy talking on the phone all day at work with a sore throat and cough. I think maybe I'm becoming immune to Zicam's effects or something. When I get home tonight, my plan is to take the cough syrup I have that contains Codeine and hopefully pass out.
